I feel most at peace when sitting in the sand and watching the water roll in, kissing the shore and circulating back out. Within this earth, pure beauty occurs through every sunrise and sunset when the sky is illuminated with a wide mixture of colors like a watercolor painting. While not directly reproducing landscapes, I study the environmental shifts around me and feelings inside of me to depict similar motion and emotion with my pieces. My work speaks to the concept of finding joy and beauty within simple forms and designs.
Through digital means, the majority of my pieces are more simplistic in form creating a clean interaction between the positive and negative space. I create each piece with the intent of portraying lightheartedness.
When individuals view my artwork, I hope to transfer my joyous personality and my passion for the environment around me; my scenic surroundings are what inspire me to create and be artistic. We live in a society that tends to forget to “stop and smell the roses”, so through my work I hope to bring the viewer a sense of comfort and love that may not have been obtained any other way.
I desire to leave the viewer with a new perspective and appreciation of the world and beauty around them; these things may not be obvious at first glance. If one takes the time to reflect on the intricate scenes of nature, they may come to realize that there is more than what meets the eye. While they may be often overlooked, even the simplest of things can produce the deepest meaning.
